Holy Father Stanisław Papczyński
He was born on May 18, 1631 in Podegrodzie near Stary Sącz. He died in Góra Kalwaria, near Warsaw, on September 17, 1701, where he became known as the apostle of Mazovia. One of the most outstanding figures of the 17th century in Poland. Founder of the Congregation of Marian Fathers. Prophet of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God. Father of the poor. Intercessor of the dead in purgatory. Writer. Theologian. Patriot. Rhetor. Advocate of social justice and lay spirituality. Confessor of King Jan III Sobieski and the Papal Nuncio A. Pignatelli, later Pope Innocent XII. He has been underestimated and even forgotten for centuries. Today he is being rediscovered thanks to the timeliness of his teachings, as well as thanks to numerous miracles and extraordinary graces received by those who ask for his intercession.
