Who we are

The JESTEM Foundation provides support to cancer patients who are undergoing or have completed their oncological treatment and are able to function independently. Our doors are open and we welcome patients and their companions to join in the many activites our foundation provides.

The moment we learn that we have cancer our lives change drastically. We may not be able to continue to work at our jobs and our lives and the lives of those closest to us revolve around trips to a doctor or getting the necessary medical treatments. We may struggle with what used to be simple life activities such as attending church services or cultural events and that is hard to overcome. Our outlook on life can look grim and in addition we are left facing uncertainty and loneliness.

The JESTEM foundation is committed to restoring hope and cheerfulness at every stage of the disease and throughout the process of healing.

It was established in 2012 in an effort to continue the ongoing support for people with cancer and to assist them in confronting this dreadful disease.

Izabella Dembińska

President

The co-founder of the JESTEM Foundation, in partnership with Dr Ewa Kosakowska. She also is the manager, planner and an executor of the projects. Izabella is very familiar with the needs of the participants deriving the knowledge from her own experience.

Ewa Anna Kosakowska, MD, PhD

Vice-President, creator and co-founder of the JESTEM Foundation Oncologist, Internist, Bioethicist

Dr Ewa Kosakowska has assisted patients with cancer for many years. At the beginning of her career, as a student, she worked at the hospice in Bialystok and then as a doctor in Warsaw Center of Oncology.
